2 Year Olds
Our curriculum intent focuses on the prime areas of learning as they are vital for all young children because they underpin all later learning. The statutory framework for the EYFS says they are ‘particularly important for building a foundation for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships, and thriving’. The long-term benefits come from the knowledge and behaviours that children acquire at this early age.
3-4 Year olds
Our curriculum intent prioritises the three prime areas—communication & language, personal/social/emotional development (PSED), and physical development—alongside specific areas like literacy, mathematics, and understanding the world to prepare children for school.
Reception 4-5 Year Olds
Our curriculum intent focuses on establishing foundational skills through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework emphasising seven key areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED), Physical Development, Communication & Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design. It prioritizes play-based learning, phonics, number sense, and building independence.
The Big Brush Club
The Big Brust Club is a supervised toothbrushing scheme introduced in schools and early years settings—primarily in the Southwest of England—to combat high rates of tooth decay in young children. Funded by the NHS and delivered by At Home Dental, this initiative aims to prevent dental issues that lead to school absences, painful dental procedures, and significant NHS costs.
We believe in teaching children the importance of brushing their teeth from a young age, as this helps to build good habits that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
