Welcome to Year 6! We have fantastic topics and learning planned for your child’s final year at primary school. Please take some time to read our Curriculum Map below and take a look at our school Facebook & Twitter feeds for the wonderful learning taking place in school!

We are looking forward to working with you and your children. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 01326 373290 or email hello@penrynprimary.org to book a phone call or meeting with us.

School Meals

KS2 school meals need to be ordered and paid for in advance via ParentPay, the school lunch menu is available on the homepage of our website.  If you think you may be eligible for free school meals, please speak to a member of the office team.

Healthy School

At Penryn Primary Academy we want to promote the health and well-being of the whole school community through all aspects of food and drink, physical activity and positive emotional health.  In line with our healthy school policy we provide each child with a Penryn Primary Academy water bottle, which is kept in school, cleaned and filled with water for your child.

We have worked hard to improve our children's knowledge and understanding of healthier choices. As part of this, only fruit is to be eaten as a snack at breaktime. This is provided by the school for your child or they can bring some from home.  We ask that any grapes are sliced in half.

Homework

It is incredibly important that your child reads at home. We expect children to read at least five times a week and record this in their home learning book. One house point will be awarded per read.

In order to improve your child’s learning in maths, your child should be accessing Times Table Rockstars (TTRS) at least three times a week. This will also need to be recorded in their home learning book. One house point will be awarded for every TTRS session completed.

Your support with reading and maths is vital to ensure that your child reaches their full potential.

Swimming, Forest School & PE

The children will have the opportunity to participate in Forest School sessions fortnightly.  The timetable is available to view on the homepage of our website.

PE and Swimming lessons will alternate each week, please ensure your child has a PE kit in school and appropriate clothing is brought in for swimming.  Please see timetable on the class door or the home page of the school website (bottom righthand corner, under links and downloads).
